WorldFest-Houston Goes Green for its 43rd Annual Film & Video Festival! WorldFest is the 1st International Film Festival in North America that will roll out a GREEN CARPET for the nightly Premieres! This wonderful idea was conceived by the Tokyo Intl Film Festival last month and we are delighted to introduce it to the USA!

In addition, WorldFest will donate a portion of every entry fee to plant a tree in either the USA, Haiti or Israel! There is a Green line of the Official Entry Form where you can designate the location for the tree. We hope to plant hundreds of trees in each locale! The trees that will be planted in Haiti are Mango, Breadfruit and Papaya Trees, since these will be preserved by the native people of Haiti and not cut down for firewood. All the other trees in Haiti have been cut to make charcoal for cooking, and it has devastated the small island nation. Both Israel and the USA have many locations that need trees to replace ones that were lost due to man and nature. WorldFest is the first and only International Film Festival in the world providing this important public service!

WorldFest Program Director Kathleen Haney and Fest Director Hunter Todd have returned from Seoul, Korea where Hunter was a member of the International Jury of the Seoul Drama Awards (SDA), the Emmy Awards of Korea. He was also an Awards Presenter at the Awards Gala. They then flew to Tokyo to meet with members of the WorldFest Asian Advisory Board.

They attended the wonderful 44th Annual Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in the Czech Republic, with side trips to Prague and Frankfurt, Germany in July. This is a major "A" festival with exceptional short and feature films. Several WorldFest winners were screened there and we did select many new International feature films for our upcoming 43rd Annual WorldFest in April 2010.

Fest Director Hunter Todd serves on the International Jury of the 4th Annual Seoul Drama Awards in Seoul, Korea. The final jury of six reviewed more than 50 international TV entries from 12 nations. The winners of the 4th Annual SDA will be announced in mid-September. Todd will attend the SDA Awards Ceremony to assist in presentation of their awards.

Dates set now set for the 43rd Annual WorldFest-Houston. April 9 - 18, 2010. Entries open on August 15th 2009. The Early Bird Discount Deadline is November 15th 2009. The Main Entry Deadline is December 15th 2009. WorldFest is the most unique International Film & Video Festival in the world, combining 10 major categories of Film & Video Production.
