Spectrum Fusion Filmmaker Access Waiver
Spectrum Fusion is sponsoring the first 100 submission waivers for eligible projects created with autistic artists in principal creative roles. We believe financial barriers should never prevent great stories from being shared.

Why this showcase exists
WorldFest-Houston and Spectrum Fusion created the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase to expand visibility, connection, and opportunity for autistic artists working in film and visual storytelling.

How Showcase consideration works
Every film submitted to WorldFest-Houston is considered for the festival's regular programming and Remi Awards according to its category and our standard jury process.
During the submission process, eligible filmmakers may also choose to have their project considered for the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase.
It provides an additional opportunity for eligible films to be highlighted as part of this special showcase celebrating autistic filmmakers.
Selecting Showcase consideration does not create a separate competition, and it does not affect eligibility for Official Selection or Remi Awards.
Who and what can be submitted
Submissions are welcome from filmmakers of all ages, experience levels, backgrounds and countries. Filmmakers may professionally or self-identify as autistic. A medical diagnosis or documentation is not required.

Projects may be submitted when one or more autistic individuals served in a principal creative role.

Projects of all genres and subject matter are welcome. Filmmakers should disclose relevant content warnings during submission to help us support audiences and partner organizations.

For six decades, WorldFest-Houston has celebrated independent filmmakers and helped introduce emerging creative voices to international audiences.
This showcase builds on that legacy by creating a platform where autistic filmmakers are recognized first and foremost as artists whose work belongs alongside the best independent filmmaking from around the world.

Participation opportunities will be adapted wherever possible to support different communication styles, sensory needs, travel considerations and accessibility requirements.
How to submit
Submit your project through WorldFest-Houston's FilmFreeway page. During submission, indicate that you would like your project considered for the International Autistic Filmmakers Showcase. You will be asked to identify the autistic team member or members and their creative roles.
There is no additional fee to be considered for the Showcase.
